An oldie but a goodie. That rather inane statement refers to today's picture, which was taken way, way back in June. Back during a time of mild consternation that Austin would never grow any hair. What wasted worrying that was. Now he has the same thin, floppy hair that both of his parents try to pass off as a fashion statement when it must really be cosmic retribution for some past evil deed carried out by the both of us when we were young and had more energy.

Austin started his first project today. He walked/tottered around our bedroom, picking up any book he could find, squealing with delight and then throwing it on the bed. He started with all the small cardboard books and worked his way towards the bigger ones, which he pulled off of whatever surface they were resting on and immediately dropped because they were so heavy. Austin probably projects some sort of energy field around his little toes because not a single book dented any of his lower digits. Some of the bigger books included a Snoopy Dictionary that used to be David's and an extremely tattered copy of "What to Expect", which has been by my bedside table for about two years now. Some unexpected things still happened, believe me.

In sadder news, Axel the 102 year old cat is at the vet's tonight because he became very ill yesterday. Tracey has had that cat longer than her car and probably longer than her old husband. I hope he feels better.
