I know, this really isn't a picture of Austin, but Denton looked so happy crawling through the verdant field that is Washington Square Park, I just had to share it. If that last sentence sounds canned, it's because I just lost my whole post due to some accidental keyboard clicking and I am trying to recreate the glory of the spontaneous post...without being spontaneous. It was a dark and stormy night. The night, it was dark and stormy. It was storming at night-time. I am, this very moment, having a Peanuts flashback. And I have to use the bathroom, but David beat me to it. Foiled!

...I really like our new bathroom. It has a tile floor and an old-style toilet and the World's smallest claw-foot tub. It is almost round. But we can fit our oldish looking set of drawers in there, which is exciting because for the last three or so years we really haven't had anywhere to keep towels. Now we do and if that isn't exciting to you, you people just don't know how to live.

What was maybe just slightly more exciting last night was that Austin's Uncle Pete showed up. We like Pete for a variety of reasons, the most important being that he likes Cafe Trieste as much as, if not more than we do. We also like Pete because he likes to eat good food. We took the man to O'Reilly's last night, where we had steamed mussels, Fish and Chips (oh, so very well fried), and Beef Cottage Pie. And beer. How on Earth can you beat that? Austin was pretty good...the restaurant side of the place was fairly empty so Austin and I toddled around while David and Pete talked about Blue Footed Boobies. Which apparently are some kind of bird. Oh, and I think it's safe to say that Austin is now an official fan of Beef Cottage Pie, as his his father who up until last night usually ordered the cave-man style Leg of Lamb. So now on O'Reilly nights when David is not feeling prehistorical but maybe just a little blue around the collar, we all know what he is going to order and I am sure we will all sleep sounder with this particular bit of knowledge tucked safely in some less used section of the brain.
