Oh lucky day folks! I just got a raise! If you can't tell by my over-abundance of exclamation points (!) I am actually being ungrateful! And unthankful! I can't believe my boss could give me this thing that was sort of like a raise with any sense of seriousness. Since I can't actually come out and tell you how small! the raise is, as that would be way too embarassing for me, I will tell you these few things instead.

If I calculated properly, (God, I hope I calculated wrong) the actual yearly increase my by the hour wage gave me would not pay a month's rent.

It would however, pay for two months of childcare.

It might pay for a downpayment on a house, most likely in a place that is going to or already has, crumbled off and fell into the ocean.

I love the ocean!
