Many of you (read: probably all one of you) may have been wondering what I am up to here in the Rabbit Warren that is our home. Let me give you a list.

1. Making butter. Why Not?
2. Thinking about learning how to crochet. I want to make a blanket. A very expensive (due to the amount of yarn), time cousuming (due to the amount of you know, time) project my family can spill spaghetti sauce on.
3. Thinking about grad school. Again, why not? I couldn't imagine making any less money, but you know me, I am always up for a challenge.
4. Learning how to make bread. I currently have a sourdough starter living in my kitchen. It whispers to the cats at night.
5. Obsessively watching our new pet snail. Yes, Austin and I found a snail and against all my better instincts, imprisioned this peace-able being in a lovely birdcage. It is very active at night.
6. Adding to my list of alternative life forms (sourdough, snail, cats...etc) I am fighting a fierce battle against some sort of bacteria that has found a home on my right hand. Some sort of service workers curse that won't leave despite all of our attempts. So I am now counting it as a lifeform that resides in our home. But I hope it's time here will soon end.

What do snails eat?

hopefully loud young people with foreign accents who insist on yelling near our window.

Lettuce. When you lean in closely, you can actually hear it chewing on the lettuce. Crunch. Crunch. Crunch.

I can't believe I'm saying this, but I'm beginning to think the snail is kinda cute. Funny that none of us have tried to name it.
