So that last attempt at fiction was not zo gut. Which is okay cuz a mama has got to try if she wants to get out of retail hell....or any working hell for that matter and just get to sit around and type and listen to NPR and talk to cats.

But anyways, yet another link. Many years ago, or maybe just five, I worked on a project at San Francisco State University that was researching Asian American Artists in California. Well, I did the research and it was all fascinating and life affirming and a little personal because I met a woman named Stella Wong who was old and sick and crazy. But I liked her and I ended up visiting her even when I was done with the project. She eventually passed, the economy sort of tanked at the end of the nineties (nothing compared to now, however) and I started working in food because there were not that many jobs for art historians floating around.

Well, just this year, a show has opened up at the De Young here in SF. It is farther reaching than the book I worked on but definitely related as the curators are the same who oversaw my research. I really cannot wait to go!
