I got to spend the whole day with Austin, which was great even though it started at 6:30 in the morning. At around 7, David got up and took Austin to Cafe Trieste and let me sleep for "a few minutes". The next thing I knew it was 11 am and Austin was just begining to stir after taking his morning nap. I felt like somebody slipped me a mickey but it probably was just lifting all that cheese the night before. So maybe in reality my day with Austin started just before noon, with a brief preview at 6:30 am.

It was very windy today, with short rain bursts between the bouts of sunshine so we played mostly inside. We played in the kitchen and the living room (Austin just loves the hard marble fireplace) and the hallway and the bedroom. I think the highlight for Austin was learning how to bang a metal bowl with a wooden spoon. The highlight for me was that he fell asleep within a few hours of eating his millet and lentil soup dinner. Yes, we eat millet. We live in Northern California, what do you expect? Oh, and we also had pizza, so there.
