It's just about noon here in San Francisco and the Tuesday Siren just went off. I hardly ever notice it anymore but right now it's so quiet in our house while David and Austin take a nap. As far as I can tell, the Tuesday Siren simply means that everything is ok, but just in case we are going to set off this very loud siren to remind you sometimes things are not all right. Apparently, if you hear the Tuesday Siren and it is not Tuesday, it is best to at that time crawl under a rock and check your flashlight batteries.

I started working at Whole Foods yesterday and the less said about that the better. I do not want to be fired in my first week of work for "sharing" opinions about my job online. The one tidbit I will share about working is that I forgot all about the lifting of heavy things. The person I was working with yesterday asked me to bring them this particular half wheel of cheese, which was a reasonable request as we were working in the Cheese Department. I went to lift the cheese and I thought, "Can't David lift this for me?" And then I realized that David wasn't there, he was home with Austin and I felt very alone in a field of heavy, heavy cheese.

When I came home from my first shift at Whole Foods, Austin was sound asleep and I was sad that I couldn't pick him up and give him a hug. But I could curl up next to him in bed and sleep, which was almost as nice.
