Today is the day our housemate Tracey celebrates her birthday. I am sure Austin would be the first to wish her a happy birthday if he only knew what a birthday was. As it is, Austin is always happy to see her, putting both hands up in the air which is as we all know the universal baby sign for "Pick me up right now!" Usually he does this when his hands are covered in yams or beans.

When Austin is not covered in food, he and Tracey can be found looking in the mirror together or slapping the magnets on the fridge. Really, I ask you what more could you ask for in a housemate? Oh and I forgot to say that she often bakes apple pies....even better!

Tonight I baked Tracey some brownies, although they currently bear more resemblance to some sort of rectangular souffle. The way I look at it, a fluffy brownie can be just as good as a chewy brownie. I am just going to ignore that rather ominous sounding bagpiper who is playing "Amazing Grace" somewhere in the vicinity of our house as I type and continue to feel positive about the brownies. No need to hold a funeral for them yet.

No, it's not normal to have a bagpipe player wandering around the neighborhood. Yes, it's a tiny bit annoying.

Happy Birthday Tracey!
